State of emergency declared for measles

A state of emergency has been declared by Gov. Jay Inslee in response to 36 confirmed measles cases statewide. Currently, there are no confirmed cases in Klickitat County.

The measles vaccine, also known as the MMR vaccine, is effective at preventing the disease. Recommended doses should occur at 12 to 15 months and again at ages 4 to 6 years.
