February 6, 2019
Jan. 12, 1938 ~ Feb. 1, 2019
Patsy (Griffee) Van House passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the early hours of Feb. 1. Her beauty and spirit were amazing. She was a talented artist, lover of music, gardening and travel. An exceptionally loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She was also grandmother to four generations of family.
In spending time with Patsy, whether you were family or a friend, you were always met with a smile and a hug. She loved people and always found the best in everyone. She seemed to always have a new story to tell on any occasion. Every visit with her was enjoyable and memorable. Ever the hostess, her door was always open; no matter the time of day, you were welcomed with open arms.
She was born Patricia Ann Griffee on Jan. 12, 1938, to Lowell Griffee and Dolores (Clarken) Griffee in Fort Dodge, Iowa. In life she was married to Jim Bennett, James M. Pearce, and John Van House, all of whom preceded her in death; also her parents, and sadly one grandchild, Trenton Pearce-Shelby. Patsy is survived by her brother, Ronald Griffee; sister, Barbara (Griffee) Franklin; and 11 children: Christopher Bennett, Gary Bennett, Karen (Bennett) Kliewe, James Eddie Pearce, Roxanne (Pearce) Shelby, David Van House, James Van House, Amy (Van House) Seyfried, Mary E. (Van House) Beck, Daniel Van House and Lisa Little-Cates; along with 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and all of whom she loved to the moon and back as well.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, in Vancouver, Washington, at 3 p.m. Interment will precede service at 1:30 p.m., also at Evergreen.
