Legion holds free centennial dinner


America's largest and most powerful supporter of veterans and their families is the American Legion. Today it counts 2.4 million members who operate through nearly 14,000 posts across the United States and beyond. The American Legion was founded March 15, 1919 and recognized by an Act of Congress the same year. In honor of this centennial anniversary, Goldendale Post 116 is hosting a free Centennial dinner for all its members and their guests-veterans, Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary-on March 24 at 3 p.m. It is potluck, with the main entrée and dessert prepared by some of the staff and members. A salad would be most welcome.
