Goldendale High tennis ready to roll

IN THE SWING: Alden Bothamley returns a shot during a 2018 late-season singles match. Bothamley played singles for most of the year, but teamed up with John Hanna late in the season to form a doubles team that went to state.

After the girls GHS tennis team won the league championship in 2018, coach Channon Bighorn said he couldn't recall the last time that had happened. In the highly competitive SCAC West, Bighorn said, "Players from Zillah, LaSalle and Naches Valley have the opportunity to play at a club level indoors during the off-season, plus they get to work with pros. Our kids don't have that, so we were blessed last year to take league." Now the team is looking to roll again in 2019.
