BUNNY BUSINESS: The Easter Bunny was hanging out with kids in Lyle on Saturday.

Squeals of excitement pierced the air and could be heard down the block as children gathered for the Lion's Club Easter Egg Hunt Saturday at the Lyle Park. Cars were lined up along the perimeter of the park, and children from ages 10 and below waited impatiently for the signal to race out and gather the eggs, filled with goodies or a message stating they had won a prize to be collected at the pavilion. Wrapped candies were also lying around hidden in the blades of grass as the kids raced to find them. Parents were also racing-after their young ones in order to catch the moment with their cameras. Once again the Lyle Lions did a great job by creating memories for families in filling the Easter baskets and satisfying the children's sweet tooth.

Last week I mentioned the passing of many of my friends. Now I wish to share with you that this week I heard a lawn mower next door, and I realized it was coming from the yard of one of those friends and neighbor, Bill Grandstaff. It warmed my heart to see yet another neighbor finishing what Bill had started before God called him home. Lyle is a melting pot of neighbors who look out for each other with never a thought of restitution. So many good deeds go untold and perhaps unnoticed, but this one isn't one of those. Thanks, "Cody."

I want to take a minute to express how blessed I feel. I have family. First is my heavenly family, the holy trinity, then close by I have my sister and her son in Dallesport who invited me to Easter Dinner, then I have my children who live outside the area plus the numerous "families"-of the church, the newspapers, museum, neighbors, and those I left behind when I moved here, plus the various organizations that I have belonged to. I consider them all my family, which makes me very rich and, yes, very blessed. I wish, for all of you, the same; a warm, contented Norman Rockwell sort of feeling.
