Burglary attempt foiled

On April 16 at about 11:50 a.m., Nelson Grabner and his wife, Michelle Grabner, called 911 to report someone was trying to break into their shop located at 99 Schrantz Road in Roosevelt. Grabner tried to stop the male subject, but the suspect took off in a silver SUV, almost running over Grabner. The suspect ended up getting stuck in a creek on the Grabners’ property; the suspect ran from the vehicle and headed north from the residence.

Grabner disabled the suspect’s vehicle by shooting three of the vehicle tires out.

Klickitat County deputies and posse deputies responded to the area to search for the suspect.
