Group to hold local National Day of Prayer meeting

 


Goldendale citizens will have an opportunity to participate in the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, on the courthouse lawn at 5:05 p.m. Pastor Victor Hunt, President of the Goldendale Christian Fellowship, says, “We chose that time because most people will have just gotten off work, and 5:05 is unusual enough that people will be more likely to remember it.”

National days of public prayer have a long history in the United States. Nearly every American knows that the Pilgrims and Indians got together in the autumn of 1621 to celebrate the colony’s first successful harvest by feasting and giving thanks to God.
