Baseball season wraps up

WINDING UP: A GHS baseball hurler delivers a fast ball concentrating on footwork out of the stretch at practice last week.

On Saturday, April 27, Goldendale High School (GHS) baseball broke into the win column with an explosive offense, taking Highland down in a double header 24-14 in the 11 a.m. game and 18-8 in the 1 p.m. game. These results indicate a significant improvement in timely hitting and defense up the middle. Coach Ann Cochran is pleased with the progress the team has shown since training began in February.

"Games we were losing earlier the season by a wide margin have become much more competitive in the last several weeks," Cochran said. Fielding the youngest team in the league, she is confident that varsity will continue to improve and that in the seasons to come, she will be able to field a JV...
