Boys Districts, May 7 fast start got Zillah’s postseason off to a solid start. Ben Kibbe and Kobe Nishi drove in three runs apiece, and the Leopards scored all their runs in the first three innings, outslugging College Place 12-9 in a SCAC district first-round game on Tuesday. Braydon Flood went 2 for 4 for Zillah, which mow travels to top-seeded Warden for a district semifinal game.

Kiona Benton 5, Naches Valley 3. At Naches, Caleb Deaton went 2 for 4 and struck out eight while giving up only one run through 6 1/3 innings for the Rangers. But Kiona-Benton scored four in the seventh to rally and beat Naches Valley. La Salle lost to royal and will play Naches Valley in a loser-out game on Friday May 10. Scores and stats were not available at press time.

Softball Non-League, May 7

In a non-league double-header, Zillah went 4-16 against Kiona Benton, losing both 3-8. At Kiona-Benton, Gracie Salverda drove in four runs, and Bryawna Fletcher and Madison Grenz both hit two-run homers to power Zillah’s second-game victory,which completed the nonleague sweep.

Granger 13-13, Connell 8-5. At Connell, Shaylin Cardenas struck out 12 in two complete games of a nonleague sweep.

Cle Elum 11, Kittittas 0: At Kittitas, Marissa Nass struck out 12 in a shutout for the Warriors. Katelyn Nass had two hits while Arianna Lombardi and Davi Vaughn added two RBI apiece for Cle Elum, concluding its regular season Monday at Seattle Christian. Details were not available at press time.
