May 25, 1882 – 137 Years Ago

Eight years ago, Mr. Abel Bloodgood came to Klickitat and settled two miles north of town at the big spring which furnishes water power for both our flouring mills. There he has lived all alone with his cats, chickens, and cattle. He goes to The Dalles and lays in his supplies for a year, his mail is usually brought by a neighbor, and so seldom does he come to town that perhaps only one in 10 of the citizens of Goldendale remember to have seen him. (Bloodgood Creek, named after Abel Bloodgood, flows through the Golf Course on its way southward toward Goldendale where it joins the Little Klickitat river below Allyn’s Building Center.
