We Love a Parade

This year's Community Days are in the record books as among the best the city has had in a long time, including- maybe especially-the parade Saturday morning, which lasted some 45 minutes and distributed sheer carpets of candy that were immediately snatched up by children. Some kids' bags looked like they'd just come back from Halloween Trick or Treating. The crowd watching the parade was one of largest, many who've been here for decades said. The crowd spilled over into the Community Days vendors' booths on the Courthouse lawn and out onto Main Street (lower right) for the Show 'n' Shine.
