July 10, 1919 – 100 Years Ago

Five cars of material for the Centerville School building are on the road. Other supplies are on the ground. Ground was broken the first of the week, and contractor Barrett of Portland says the work will be rushed. His superintendent, Mr. Heckert, is in charge of the work is living in Centerville now. The build is to be entirely completed ready for occupancy by October 15.

July 31, 1919 - 100 Years Ago

Gerald, son of Ralph W. Fenton, was accidentally shot by his brother on Monday this week, the charge of a shotgun entering his leg just above the knee, tearing a hole through the bone. Medical aid was secured locally, and the boy was taken to the Dalles...
