Flag flap: where are American flags actually made?

GET YOUR AMERICAN FLAG: A reader brought in a Harbor Freight catalog listing American flags, with a warning that you can't buy them in Minnesota. Why? Because Minnesota outlaws sales of American flags not made in America.

Is your American flag actually American?

The Sentinel looked into this question when a reader brought in a Harbor Freight catalog offering full-sized American flags for a pittance-but also indicating that you could not buy the flags in the state of Minnesota.

It turns out that's because Minnesota forbids the sale of American flags that are not made in the U.S.

Few political symbols are more evocative than the American flag. It represents the nation, ideals, lives sacrificed in war, and hopes for future generations.
