TO PROTECT AND DANCE: Law enforcement officers entertained a crowd at the Lyle National Night Out.

The Lyle Park was alive with happy people Tuesday night. Many turned out for the National Night Out sponsored by the KLASAC and local law enforcement. Speaking of law enforcement, you missed a great karaoke segment with a talented tribal policeman from Hood River starting off with an upbeat rapping song. Later our own State Trooper Nate Hovinghoff gave his rendition of an old sailor's ditty, "A Whale of a Tale," during which he was joined by one of his colleagues, Trooper KC Scott, with a little foot shuffle and a grandiose ending. Our Prosecuting Attorney, David Quinell manned the barbecue supplying hot dogs for the hungry. Sheriff Bob Songer was seen at times cornered and willingly list...
