Soup kitchen still a busy place

The local soup kitchen that provides free meals to all attendees is seeking candidates interested in taking over operations.

The kitchen will continue to provide meals to persons who are hungry and in need of a meal. They could possibly walk away with some leftovers too as the attendance can fluctuate from three to 60 persons, and the cooks are prepared to feed many.

“We just want to feed them,” says Connie Pond, the current and soon retiring coordinator.

The facility started 11 years ago as a soup kitchen through the heartfelt efforts and collaboration of the 7th Day Adventist and United Methodist Church of Goldendale to ensure no one in the community goes hungry.
