Tiana Watson, an incoming junior at Goldendale High School, participated in multiple USATF track meets this summer. She competed and won the local USATF meet at Kennewick in mid June to qualify for the regional meet. Placing second in the regional meet at Tacoma on July 7 qualified her for the national meet, which took place in Sacramento the week of July 22-28. Tiana competed against 42 other 15- and 16-year-old girls in the javelin throw on July 27. Despite the scorching 105-degree temperatures, she brought home a 4th place medal. Over the course of three other meets this summer, Watson improved her personal best from the regular track season to a new personal best mark of 131' 3". She...
