Hackbarth retiring after 24 years

Nearly a handful of decades have passed since a 17-year-old, newly single, young mother of a baby girl took a necessary customer service job at Grigg's Department Store in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. This young mom was responsible for the store's customer happiness, the reconciliation of till monies, correct employee timecards, employee camaraderie and any other problem-solving aspect of the store's operations. She was not old enough to vote but was old enough to be divorced, a mother, and to shoulder more management responsibilities than her pay or job description might suggest.
