DO YOU KNOW WHERE THESE WERE TAKEN?: Pictures dating from World War II were discovered in an archive box.

Last week out of the second floor of the Sentinel building and out of the mists of history emerged a unique and remarkable set of photographs. Enclosed in a old manila envelope were 10 pictures of vintage aircraft, along with an award citation to Pete May, the longtime editor and owner of the Sentinel; the citation, dated July 12, 1944, was issued to him 12 years before he came to the Sentinel. It was from a company called Columbia Aircraft Industries thanking May for a suggestion he made to the company. Presently we don’t know if the citation had anything to do with the photographs it was with, but it’s reasonable to presume there was a connection.
