Murderer's sentence to be revisited again

Twenty-seven years ago, one of the most horrendous crimes to occur in Klickitat County occurred just outside of Centerville. Soon, the primary perpetrator may leave prison, his sentence mitigated by a 2012 U.S. Supreme Court ruling and a Washington Supreme Court ruling in April this year. A hearing is scheduled for later this month in Goldendale.

Jeremiah Gilbert was 15 years old when he and a friend, Shannon Rau, then 16, both from Buckley, Washington, when they came into Klickitat County on Sept. 20, 1992, "on a drinking and dope run," Gilbert called it years later.
