It's we who lose

Who really pays a tax increase, whether it be a new tax, a levy, or a property bond? When a manufacturer gets a tax increase to keep his percentage of profit at the same level, he raises the cost to the wholesaler, then the wholesaler passes it on to the distributor, and the distributor passes it on to the seller (which in many instances is a small business operation.) This puts the seller between a rock and a hard place. If the price increase is too much, he will lose customers. If he just increases what prices he can, then there will have to be cuts made somewhere to make up the difference. In a lot of cases, that means someone loses their job.
