Inslees at KPUD plant, pumped storage site, KVH

GUBERNATORIAL RECOGNITION: Washington Governor Jay Inslee and his wife Trudi were in the Goldendale area last Wednesday. The governor visited the new KPUD plant in Roosevelt and bestowed a pin on PUD General Manager Jim Smith.

Washington Governor Jay Inslee and his wife flew into Dallesport Wednesday and then split up. First Lady Trudy Inslee was taken to Goldendale where she visited Klickitat Valley Health hospital and the Goldendale Observatory. The governor was driven to the H.W. Hill Roosevelt landfill where he took part in ribbon cutting and dedication ceremonies for the new natural gas plant taking methane generated by the contents of the landfill and turning it into usable natural gas vehicle fuel. In his address to the crowd, Inslee cited Klickitat County wind turbines as part of Washington's leadership in developing clean energy and called the new plant "another tremendous step."
