City fire ban lifted

With the recent rain fall and cooler temperatures, Fire Chief Noah Halm is lifting the citywide burn ban in Goldendale, effective the night of Sept. 30 at 11:59 p.m.

The City of Goldendale requires a new open burn permit be obtained each year. Permits may be obtained as soon as the morning of Oct. 1 at City Hall, 1103 S Columbus Ave, during business hours. All rules and regulations are listed on the burn permit. Property owners are required to make the permit available during burning.

As always, due care should be used when burning, taking into consideration weather conditions and air quality conditions. Individuals may be held responsible for damages as a result of a burn that gets out...
