Community radio dies in Goldendale

COME AND GONE: In 2014 this sign announced the imminent arrival of a new community low-power FM radio station. This year the station ceased operations.

KVGD, a low-power FM [LPFM] radio station, was heralded at its outset as a significant new contribution to community information in Goldendale. But it has disappeared from the air.

The low-power community radio station was started by a group eventually spearheaded by Cory Eberhart and, in its last months, Loren Fennell. It received funding from Puget Sound Energy (PSE, whose grant allowed the station to form) and was under the nonprofit umbrella of Community Enrichment for Klickitat County (CEKC).
