Timberwolves stay tied for first place in league

THRILLS APLENTY: Goldendale's Timberwolf Volleyball had some wildly exciting games last week as it remains tied for the top in the league.

GHS Timberwolf Volleyball finished the week 2-1, playing 3 tough matches in a five-day run. The team remains tied for first in the league, only dropping a match to Lasalle.

Tuesday brought the girls to Granger to face a scrappy defensive-minded Spartan team. Goldendale finished the Spartans in three sets with some aggressive hitting (.242) and tough serving (97 percent). The balanced attack of Alyssa Weis, Sara Hiebert, and Taylor Rising combined for 33 kills. Weis had her best all-around match of the season with 12 kills, 17 digs and 2 aces with 18-18 serving. Rising added 10 kills, 12 perfect passes and 10 digs. SET SCORES:25-11, 25-18, 25-13.
