Time to observe October's blessings


October 30, 2019

October is a month of amazing but short-lived beauty that vanishes too fast as the earth prepares for the winter ahead. A wonderful over-abundance of blazing colors of orange, yellow, and red surround us.

October is also a month that is filled with an over-abundance of human activities. As winter approaches there are the wonderful fall tasks of wood getting, leaf raking, canning, hunting, and other farm and garden chores. And on top of these there is a host of other demands on our time. It always seems that, in an attempt to beat winter, every long-distance meeting and conference happens during October, putting many of us on the road and away from home a lot.
