Laura Elma Ward passed away Nov 1, 2019, peacefully at her home with family by her side. Laura was born March 6, 1937 in Fromberg, Montana, to Bernard Henry and Mildred Elma (Folkins) Murray. She was the middle child of 16 children. Laura married Leon Ward September 30,1956, in Aberdeen, Washington; to this union five children were born: Sherrie Lynn, Shelly Jean, Gregory Scott, Shannon Jolene, and Glenn Allan.

Laura belonged to and was active in the Centerville Grange for 59 years and Klickitat Pomona Grange- Pomona 5th degree, Neighbor of Woodcraft, Thimble Club, and the American Legion for 42 years.

She loved to crochet, embroider, and doing Genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and five sisters, and a daughter, Shelly Jean Browning.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Leon Ward; daughters Sherrie (Richard) Boe of Post Falls, Idaho, and Shannon (John) Maul of Ridgefield, Washington; and sons Gregory Ward of Goldendale, Glenn ( Tammy) Ward of Loon Lake, Washington; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Lamoreaux of Lacy, Washington; and a brother, Lloyd Murray of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at the Mountain View Cemetery in Goldendale at 1 pm with Chaplain Darrell Watson officiating. A special thanks to KVH Hospice for the kind and wonderful care you gave to Laura and her family.

Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
