City gets calls about WAGAP

Last Monday night’s meeting of the Goldendale City Council was more informational than action-packed. The only action item was a resolution approving a request for permission to drill a non-domestic well to provide irrigation to the new Stargazer RV park. That stems from a request by the Mosbrucker family, which built the park. Phase 1 of the park is opening just in time to coincide with the reopening of the completely remodeled Goldendale Observatory.
Mayor Mike Canon announced the observatory will have a soft opening on Monday, Nov. 11, to observe Mercury transit the face of the sun. That’s something he said occurs from the viewpoint of the Earth only once in every 32 years.
