Change in Santa photos status

December 18, 2019

Due to multiple conflicts with the December meeting, the KLASAC Executive Board has decided to cancel this month’s meeting. There are a lot of things going on this month for everyone, and the board could not come up with another day that seemed to work. It will meet up again in January, in Klickitat, on the 15th from 5 to 6:30 p.m. I hope everyone can make it to that one. Over the last couple of months we have had very limited attendance at meetings. I realize everyone has a lot going on, but we are going to need some help with reaching some of our goals this year. The few people attending cannot accomplish all of our goals on their own. On another note, seven of our youth from Klickitat and Lyle just attended a Youth Advocacy training where they had the opportunity to learn speaking skills and how to advocate and make a difference in issues that are important to them. They met Rep. Paul Harris and had a chance to ask him questions. The youth are excited to use some of these skills at an upcoming commissioners meeting where they will be discussing the Youth Summit that we are hoping to plan and participate in during April 2020. If any of you would like to talk about anything before our January meeting, please feel free to email or call Sheila Crapper, Coalition Coordinator, at (509) 316-9523 or email or

There has been a change of plans for the Santa Night Photos of the children visiting last Thursday the 5th. I have processed the photos and delivered them to Community Council Board member Oren Johnson to present to the families. He asks if you had members of your family photographed that night, and if you can pass on the information to family members, neighbors, or friends who do not receive the newspaper, please give them a call at (541) 490-5663. I must say the photos did come out quite well, and I hope that you will all be as happy with them as I had editing them. Some very darling children we have in our little community, and some of the adults aren’t too shabby either. If the photos are the essence of the holiday spirit that night, I missed out on a lot of fun.
