Woman seeks info on her newfound father

WHO WAS HE? Janet Hermann took a DNA teat and was surprised to learn her father was Max Hildebrandt, who lived for a time in Goldendale. Now she's trying to find more information about him. The photo at top is a picture of him in a rodeo.

Growing up on a small grain farm in eastern Montana, Janet Hermann always thought there was something hidden about her. Her mother treated her differently than she did her sisters. And Hermann, with red hair and green eyes, didn't look like them.

"My dad always called me his little red hen because of the hair and (my) independent nature, even as a small girl," Hermann said in an email from her home in Costa Rica.

She and her husband were given DNA kits as Christmas gifts in 2017. Hermann learned through a DNA test that a Yakima County man, Max Hildebrandt, was her father, and she has been running a personal ad in the Yakima Herald-Republic classifieds in hopes of finding out more about hi...
