Sanford (Sam) Mesecher

Sanford G. (Sam) Mesecher, 61, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale. He was born April 17, 1958, in The Dalles, Oregon, the son of Dennis G. and Twila L. (Niemela) Mesecher. He is survived by his parents; three sons: Derrick Mesecher (Carol) of Battleground, Washington, Phelan Mesecher of Portland, Oregon, and Nicholas E. Mesecher of Goldendale: one sister, Merrilee Hansen of Goldendale; one brother, Cary Mesecher of Goldendale; two granddaughters; one grandson; and one step grandson.

He spent most of his life as a resident of Goldendale. He attended Goldendale public schools, graduating in 1977, and went on to attend community college in The Dalles and Walla Walla. He was employed at the aluminum plant in Goldendale and the metal casting foundry at Dallesport, Washington, and also became a certified farrier until injury and illness forced retirement. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
