County, city , hospitals make preparations for coronavirus

PREPARING: County and local health officials and leaders met Friday to discuss steps taken to prepare for local exposure to the coronavirus. A hastily called meeting of Klickitat County health officials last Friday focused on local prevention of the coronavirus. The primary message: if you're sick, don't immediately dash off to a doctor's office.

Word was sent to media and health stakeholders Thursday afternoon of the meeting in the wake of the first testing in the county for the coronavirus. As of press time, results of that test were still pending. Friday's meeting was held at the county's Department of Emergency Management building on S. Columbus Avenue.
