Sheriff's Office changes procedures in wake of virus

The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office says it’s enacting some procedures to better protect the citizens of Klickitat County and its employees due to the COVID 19 outbreak.

Effective immediately the West End Office at the Pioneer Center will be closed until further notice. Follow the below instructions if you have administrative needs.

Original Concealed Pistol License will be on hold to avoid direct contact while fingerprinting. Please remember you can utilize your Second Amendment Right and open carry.

Concealed Pistol License renewals-up to 90 days prior to expiration date, applications can be mailed with a check or money order in the amount of $32 and a copy of a government issued picture ID. Applications are available at http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/firearms/training/652007.pdf.

Concealed Pistol License Late renewals-up to 90 days after the expiration date, applications can be mailed with a check or money order in the amount of $42 and a copy of a government issued picture ID. Applications are available at http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/firearms/training/652007.pdf.

Papers for service within the county can be mailed to the same address with a minimum fee of $35 check or money order along with a letter of instruction. Questions regarding additional charges, contact the Civil division of the Sheriff’s office at 773-4455.

Fingerprinting for civil purposes on hold to avoid direct contact.

As far as the jail operations, in order to maintain the safety of the inmates and employees, visiting has been canceled as well as any volunteer programs in the jail. The Sheriff’s Office will also be suspending any donations coming to the jail. If you have any questions, you can contact the jail at 773-3666.

The Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office says it apologizes for any inconveniences this creates. The office will pull the restrictions once it is deemed safe.
