“Chinese wet market” entered the average American’s vocabulary this past month when speculations as to the origins of the coronavirus COVID-19 received intensive media coverage. But long before COVID-19, the Chinese wet market has had a negative effect on the American dog and dog owner and continues to pose a serious threat to North American wildlife.
