City council meets by phone

The Goldendale City Council met Monday, April 6 by phone. Unfortunately, the number published on the city website transposed two numbers on the instructions for call-in, so many people who wanted to join got a busy signal.

The majority of the meeting was taken up with a COVID-19 report from Justin Leigh, former city council member, who is now working for the city part-time as planning director.

He told the council there were a number of changes caused by the need to respond to the pandemic. By order of the governor, neither the city nor the county are granting any new building permits unless related to critical infrastructure or critical activities.
