What's happening with home crime now?

National Crime Victim Rights Week is happening now through April 25, and the ongoing theme is Seek Justice, Ensure Victim’s Rights, and Inspire Hope. This annual recognition coincides with a question the Programs for Peaceful Living office is hearing lately: “How is the crime rate during this quarantine? It is so eerie, it is too quiet.”

Since Gov. Inslee mandated the Stay Home Stay Healthy order on March 23, many feelings about the order have surfaced, like anxiety, panic, fear, denial, anger, and worry. The safety of our health and wellbeing is important, and the safety of our loved ones and our homes stands out. And you might well wonder if crime has changed.
