Kid Scoop set to fold

 


Kid Scoop, the acclaimed literacy learning page newly carried in The Sentinel, is a hit with parents, teachers, and kids—but, sadly, so far hasn’t been able to earn its keep. The page is in its final month in our newspaper, this after having just been launched a month ago.

A generous investment by the Ross Foundation enabled The Sentinel to begin Kid Scoop, but the product has not gained traction among other financing sources. Unlike regular advertising, Kid Scoop is unusually cost heavy to run each month. It was always a challenge to bring it to a small market like Goldendale, especially during a pandemic, but the hope was that after the Ross Foundation kickstart, other agencies and/...
