Judith Mattson Harmon

Judith Mattson Harmon (Blythe, Hinton) was born Dec. 29, 1936, and passed away Oct. 20, 2019, in her home in Clarkston, Washington. Judith was born in Hood River, Oregon, to Ernest and Phyllis Mattson. She was raised in Centerville, where she attended grade school and graduated from Goldendale High School. She then went to Eastern Washington University, where she received her teaching degree. Judy taught school at Goldendale High School for a few years. Judy made the move to Vancouver, Washington, to raise her children and for the opportunity to teach in various grade schools. For over 10 years, Judy sang as first soprano with the Portland Oregon Symphonic Choir and the Portland Symphonic Orchestra. For fun and spiritual fulfillment, Judy spent the majority of her Sundays singing for non-denominational churches. Before retiring, Judy spent her time teaching English to Spanish-speaking children in Costa Rica.

Judy is survived by her husband Ernest Harmon; her sister, Brooke Warrener; her daughter, Morgan Longley (Jake); son Regan Hinton (Kirsty); her step-children Pillarr Harmon and Lindy Harmon; her seven grandchildren Brock Warrener, Stephanie Mauget, Hannah Mauget, Cameron Mauget, Benjamin Blythe, Kyle Hinton, and Oren Hinton; and many great-grandchildren. After retirement, Judy and her husband Ernie lived in Goldendale, then moved to Clarkston, Washington, where her stepdaughter Pillarr Harmon cared for her until her death.
