Bucking for God's job

By gubernatorial edict, many Klickitat County businesses remain closed, and this makes no sense. To date, of the 485 Klickitat County residents tested for COVID-19, only 25 tested positive. Tragically, three of those people died. But three deaths in three and a half months in a population of 22,000 does not constitute a plague, or even a significant threat.

We are constantly assured and admonished by reader boards and internet ads that confining ourselves in our homes is saving “millions” of lives. How can you quantify something that has not happened? You can’t.

No one can know the number of people who didn’t die of COVID-19 because we obediently stayed home...
