May 24, 1914 - 106 Years Ago

Klickitat is never short of something new now and then. The storm of last Thursday will be remembered for some time by Horace White of Dot, who had a herd of sheep in Glenwood Country. Lightning struck the bunch and killed twenty-two. This is the first known instance of lightning killing sheep in this country.

April 29, 1920 – 100 Years Ago

The carpenter work on the new Centerville high school will be completed tomorrow, and the school board has notified Architect Charles H. Burggraf, of Albany, Oregon, to be on hand to advise them.
