Goldendale High grad program and schedule

Goldendale High School’s Seniors will participate in a 2020 Graduate Parade on Thursday, June 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m., from the high school parking lot. Seniors will follow Simcoe Drive, then go north on Columbus Avenue, dispersing after taking a right onto Main Street.

For this event, the following guidelines must be followed:

Participant requirements

• There will be one vehicle in the parade per graduate family

• Only those living in the household may be in the vehicle

• Only the graduate may ride in a pickup bed or sit on the back of a convertible

• No candy or objects may be thrown from the vehicles

Spectator requirements

• Spectators should park along the parade route prior to the 5:30 P.M. start

• Spectators must remain in vehicles at all times

• No candy or objects may be thrown to the senior vehicles

• Follow all social distancing guidelines

• High risk populations should stay home

• People who have COVID-19 or who are in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, must remain at home in isolation or quarantine

• People must stay home if they feel sick

• Each vehicle should contain only members from a single household

• There should be no contact between a car’s occupants and those of another

Goldendale High School’s Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, June 5, at 8 p.m. in the high school parking lot. This event is primarily for graduates and their families. Those who attend will be held to the same spectator expectations as listed above for the parade. The ceremony can be heard live on FM 98.1, or in short delay on 1400 AM. The sound can also be livestreamed at http://www.gorgenewscenter.com by clicking on the “Listen Live” button. The ceremony will also be live streamed on social media.

The High School Baccalaureate, a non-school religious service, will be held in the parking lot of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Goldendale on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.
