This past week brought word of the death of a six-week-old infant in his home by the family dog, which was a Belgian Malinois (pronounced Mal-in-waa). To the public, the Malinois is a relatively rare breed; however they are quickly becoming the dog of choice for police K9s and as Military Working Dogs (MWD). Cairo, the dog which participated in the mission which led to the death of Osama Bin Ladin, was a Malinois. Klickitat County’s new police K9, Profi, is a Belgian Malinois.
