FFA students compete at State



HOW DO YOU USE THAT BAG? Goldendale FFA Jr. High Secretary Sebastian Sanchez, left, surveyed community member Rebecca Bare about her plastic bag use in a co-project with Sonny Piper. Eighty-two community members filled out a survey about their use of plastic bags at three local grocery stores and through a Google form. After participants completed the survey, they received a reusable shopping bag.

Six Goldendale FFA members submitted their science fair lab reports in order to compete in the Washington State FFA Agriscience Fair. Lab reports were submitted the beginning of May and judged by Washington State University Professors. The six Goldendale participants competed in the 7-8 grade division and in four categories.

Calvin Hill placed 1st with his Animal Systems project, "Old Dogs, New Tricks." Angelina Owen placed 1st with her Plant Systems project, "This Little Light of Mine." Braxton Seaver placed 1st with his Power, Technical, and Structural Systems project, "The Strongest Weld." Cadence Quantrell placed 1st with her Social Science project, "GMO Survey."
