Cycle speeder chased, apprehended


On July 21, at approximately 2:30 p.m. Klickitat County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Murdock area to assist the Washington State Patrol with a high-speed vehicle pursuit. Washington State Patrol Sergeant Hovinghoff advises he was in pursuit of a motorcycle at speeds well in excess of 100 miles per hour. The pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns as the motorcycle entered Murdock from the east on SR-14.

The motorcycle rider continued driving recklessly on county roads within Murdock. The rider lost control after crossing SR-14, laid down the motorcycle, and fled the scene on foot towards the Columbia River.
