Sharon Kay Parrish

November 20, 2019

Sharon Kay Parrish (Hooker), passed from this life to her heavenly home on Nov. 14, 2019. Sharon is now at rest in the loving arms of her Savior.

Sharon was born June 20, 1938, in Hermiston, Oregon, at the home of her Aunt Lucille Montgomery. She was born the daughter of Alvin (Bud) Hooker and Gladys Mclouth Hooker. Sharon retired from her job in home daycare of 30 years then worked at Little Folks Daycare as cook. She and her husband Tom where members of Union Hill Alliance Church for 37 years where they served and enjoyed opening their home to many family, friends, and those in need.

In 1998 Tom and Sharon moved from Redmond, Washington, to the Goldendale area and attended the Grace Brethren Church. She was a devoted wife for 44 years to her husband Tom and a loving mother to five children and a wonderful grandmother of eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. After they retired, she enjoyed camping with her family, motor home trips with Tom, hosting a care group in her home, and being a part of the ladies' prayer ministry. She was also a member of TOPS in Goldendale. Her hobbies included reading and collecting cups, saucers, and spoons from her travels. She loved her time with her family for meals and playing card games. She always wanted her family and friends to know, to "Always have Christ as the head of your life and marriage, and what a privilege to have had each of you in my life. I enjoyed very much being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Remember, the King is coming."

She is survived by her daughters Tami (Greg) Lane and Tina Conner of Crooked River Ranch, Oregon, and Tracy (Brion) Stahl of Huron, South Dakota; son Thomas (Lynn) Parrish of Goldendale; seven grandchildren: Candice, Nicole, Carrie, Carlton, Kayleen, Caleb, and Emily; two greatgrandchildren: Kira and Oakley; and her brothers Kenneth and Henry Hooker and sister Ruby Mulvaney, all of Hermiston, Oregon. And many loved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Stanley Parrish; their daughter, Terrie Lynn Parrish; her parents, Alvin and Gladys Hooker; her sister, Pamela Grimes, and her granddaughter, Sarah Kay Harrison.

We sincerely thank Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Hospice of the Gorge and Columbia Basin for their loving care provided during her illness. We also thank many family and friends who visited and cared for Sharon; it has been clear to us that she was very loved.

A memorial Service will be held at Community Grace Brethren Church, 1180 S Roosevelt Ave, Goldendale, on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m.
